What is Quest?
We are building Quest for a clean, noise free, self help platform to discuss preparation ideas. It will be mobile based available on both iOS and Android as of now, and will have a read only web version eventually.
Why are you building it?
We deprecated ForumIAS Community starting 2018-19 as we felt Quora had come of age as medium for Civil Services preparation needs. Then telegram happened. And now reddit. As of today – 2026 we feel that despite new platforms, there is more fake news than real guidance.
Can I post coaching review on Quest?
You cannot even name Coaching teachers, coaching institutes, reviews, grievances on Quest. We have reddit for that.
Can I post my ForumIAS grievances on Quest?
You can neither post a review, appreciation or grievance, request on the platform. Quest is to be independent from Forum. Forum will however, have a business account on the platform and use it to run channels on the platform. But in public discussions, no coaching should be named.
Can I mention any coaching study material?
You can name books, notes, study material of any coaching. No promotion or review of any coaching including ForumIAS Academy.
But why?
Because any mention of coaching attracts paid PR from coachings – particularly edTech who have externally funded. This attracts the wrong crowd.
Again, what is the purpose of Quest?
To build a positive, self help group for Civil Services preparation – where you can expect the right guidance. We discuss ideas – not people.
What quest is NOT?
Quest is not a platform for grievance redressal, negative news, feedback and anything to do with coaching, or awareness campaigns against persons / institutes / places.
